Photo Hikes: The Waterfalls of Lane County 2019

Lunch will be provided each day in the form of sandwich fixings,  chips, fruit, and drinks.  If you prefer, you can stop by the Deadwood Tavern for burgers etc.  There are other burger/deli type options in Mapleton.  You are responsible for your evening meal.  There are a number of excellent restaurants in Florence.

Day 1: We will gather in Deadwood for a breakfast meet and greet (coffee/tea, bagels/muffins), which will include an overview of water photography, tips, and techniques.  We'll also discuss our target locations and what to expect.  Then we'll be off to our first destination.  My hope is to include two of the easier to access spots in the afternoon and evening.

Home base for this group is my home in Deadwood, Oregon. Deadwood is 30 minutes from Florence and an hour from Eugene. There's even water to shoot right outside the back door as our property is bordered by 1000 feet of Lake Creek.  There is a swimming hole, but May is likely still a little chilly for that. You are welcome to photograph anywhere on the property.

Day 3: Will be entirely taken up by our hike out to a spectacular waterfall complex literally in the middle of nowhere.  It's not a bad trek in because it's all downhill, but those who go down must come back up, so pack light and be prepared for two miles of uphill.  Trust me, it's worth it!
