Obituary:
Anna Bowers was born near Canton, Starks County, Ohio, November 9, 1815, and died at her home in Liberty Township, Crawford County, February 18, 1897, aged 81 years, 3 months and 9 days. She was married to Abraham Grogg, November 1833, and came to Crawford County in February 1838, where they settled on the old homestead near Liberty Chapel, where they resided until the death of her husband, which occurred in April 1887, after which she removed to the home of her son, Daniel, where she lived up to the time of her death. She was the mother of eleven children, six of whom preceded her to the spirit world. Those living are Daniel, Amos who resides at Markie, Indiana, Sarah Ambrosier, who resides at Hill city, Kansas; Frances J Crum and Jemima Sturtz. There are living twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Mother Grogg and her husband became members of the United Brethren Church about fifty-five years ago, remaining a faithful and consistent member through the years. Of her it may be said that she was a "snock of corn ready for the garner". "Peach to the ashes." The funeral services were held Saturday at 1 o'clock conducted by Rev A. Powell of Tiffen, assisted by Rev AF Light of North Robinson.
