Leonhard died in Tulpehocken in late 1773. Letters of administration were issued to his widow, Anna Maria on Feb. 28, 1774. (Berks Co. Admin. Vol 3, p. 110). In a petition filed by John Anspach, his eldest son and heir, relative to settlement of his estate, May 25, 1774, the surviving children of Leonard were listed as John, Peter, Phillip, John Jacob, Anna Catharina, Margaret, Elisabeth and Mary. (Orphans Court, Vol 2, pp 174, 176. 1774) An inventory of the estate was recorded March 17, 1774. An account of the estate was filed by his widow on June 28, 1775.

Leonard's eldest son John, upon paying the other heirs their respective shares, received his father's real estate, located in Tulpehocken Township, containing a plantation of 142 acres, and another tract of land contiguous to his plantation, containing 198 acres. ON April 3, 1774, his widow petitioned the Court to appoint guardians for his minor children under fourteen years of age. (Orphans Court, Vol 2, p.177).

Leonard may have been married twice, first to the daughter of Henrich Zeller, of Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, who named his son-in-law 'Leonard Anspach' as one of his executors. He did not mention the name of his daughter married to Leonard, which indicates she was deceased.
