Father: Samuel ZINKAccording to the 1912 History of Crawford County Ohio, David L Zink was born in Marietta, PA. Around 1850, he went to Pittsburgh and went into the commission business with a relative. His father followed him to Pittsburgh shortly thereafter. He was married in Pittsburgh in 1855 then moved to Crestline, OH in 1856 with his wife, father and brother, Samuel. There he worked in the freight office for the Pennsylvania Line. On 1 February 1861, he was appointed agent for the Pennsylvania company at Crestline. In May 1865, he was appointed ticket agent of the Big Four Railroad. He served jointly for both roads until 01 December 1903, when he retired. In retirement, he became the secretary of the Crestline Building and Loan Association as one of its original officers.
