Ezekiel RICHARDSON

• BIRTH: ABT. 1603, Westmill Herts, England
• DEATH: 21 OCT 1647, Woburn, MA

The three brothers, Ezekiel, Samuel and Thomas Richardson, are known as such by the will of Ezekiel, who names the other two as his brothers.  Ezekiel, evidently the oldest, was first to come to New England, and was a planter in Charlestown in 1630. His departure previous to the making of the will, perhaps against his father's wishes, or possibly having received his share of his father's small estate, may account for the name of Ezekiel not appearing in the will. His baptism is not found at West Mill, as are the baptisms of Samuel and Thomas.  Ezekiel and Susanna probably came with Winthrop, he and his wife becoming members of the Charlestown church, 27 Aug., 1630."

According to Savage, Ezikiel Richardson took the oath of a freeman on 18 May 1631.  He was appointed constable in Charlestown in 1633 and representative in 1635.  He settled in Woburn in 1640.

"To Isabel Brigham, wife of Thomas, £9, which he owes me and 20s more, in full satisfaction of her child's portion....to Christopher Watsonmy son 40s in full satisfaction of his child's portion...to Katharine Patchet, wife of Robert Patchet £4 he owes me in full satisfaction of child's portion...to Constance wife of John Brigham £8 he owes me in full satisfaction of cild's portion...to George Barker, 5s, to Robert Barker 5s, to George Gathorne 5s, to Jennet Gathorn 5s, to elizabeth Gathorn 5s, toMarie Gathorne 6s 8d, to Henry Yonge son of Phillipp Yonge 5s 8d, to Thomas ellithorpe, Christopher Ellithorpe and Francis Ellithorpe each 5s, to James Watson son of Christopher 20s, to Jennet Watson daughter of William Watson 20s...Legacies are to be paid two years after his death.
