Peter's birth was recorded at Schaefferstown Reformed Church as Philip. There is no doubt that Peter was a son of Henry (Johann Heinrich) and Philip does not appear in any other records. In the rather complicated division of property worked out by the family, Peter received 20 acres, which seems to have been the home place, as the otheres quit-claimed to him later. Peter wife was named Elizabeth, and when his estate was settled in May 1860, his children were listed as: John, David Catherine, and Polly/Anna Maria.
