Richard held copyhold lands and tenements in Fornham and in Bishop's Stortford, Herts., within the manor of Earlsbury. In his will, dated 17 Apr 1599, he left his lands to son William, with the stipulation that William pay his brother Francis £7:3:0. Various goods were left to Richard's wife Joan and his daughters Mary and Elizabeth.

Father:
John MURRAYBorn in Kingston, New Brunswick Canada 31 October 1870. In the 1900 Federal Census he is recorded as having immigrated to the US in 1880. The 1910 Census does not give any information about his immigration, those spaces are blank. However, contrary to the 1900 information, the 1920 Census lists his date of immigration as 1895. It also gives his date of naturalization, 1910. It has not yet been determined with whom he made the journey to Maine, though his mother, brother and sister have both been found to have also immigrated to Maine, to the Sullivan area in Hancock County. No record of his father, John Murray, has yet been found in this country. Daniel Murray gave his occupation as quarryman at the time of his marriage to Minnie Olive Bubier on 19 May 1898 in Wilton, Maine. The 1910 Federal Census list his occupation as Pavin Cutter. They lived in Jay at "Canada Corners". The fieldstone foundation of this house, in a cow field, is all that remains today. Daniel died on 25 January 1942 of Hypostatic Pneumonia after a Cerebral Thrombosis and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton.
The 1910 Census list his age as 39, which is consistent with his found date of birth. He is listed as owning a home. His status and year of immigration are not listed. His occupation remains Pavin Cutter. The 1920 Census lists his age as 48. His year of immigration is listed as 1895, fifteen years after the date given on the 1900 census. But he is listed as naturalized in 1910. However, his wife is listed as "Ernie B" age 38, Since this is the same age as Minnie, it is assumed that the enumerator misunderstood the first name and the B is for Bubier. Chester L and "Erland K (1920)" are also listed in 1910 and 1920. All members of the family are listed as literate.
