IN MEMORIAM OCTOBER 1972
"The expression " Girl Scouting is a family affair " is very applicable to the Girl Scout family of Larry Crum.  When their only daughter, Normn Jean Crum [ Wickman ] jioned Brownies in about 1942, it immediately  became an entire family commitment--this continued with Larry until his death on September 18,1972.  No task was too great for him to undertake - transporting girls, waiting for dinner while Dorothy was leading a troop, assisting in the preporation of camp, and using his skills and knowledge to develop Camp Whip-Poor-Will Hills, a very important part of Larry's life.  After his retirement from DP&L, he continued to give much of his time and effort to all of the eight properties owned by the Council. As recently as September 15 th, he was in the office planning for next summer.  Life's value is measured not by what we do for ourselves but how our life has affected others. Larry's life has been a fitting tribute to this philosophy. We shall certainly miss him."
