Tempête en Hiver
American Saddlebred #135857

Tempi arrived on April 21, 2001 at 11 am.  She was born in Millbrook, New York on an estate I was working for at the time.   I already knew she'd be a filly because I'd had the vets determine her sex when she was at just 61 days of gestation.

Tempi has been the apple of her mother's eye since she was born.  I think I had a harder time weaning Chloe than Tempi.  After several separation attempts to dry Chloe up, which lasted several months each, I finally gave up and Tempi eventually weaned herself.

Bubs has lived a very spoiled life.  When she was a baby, both her parents doted on her.  It was not unusual for her to eat out of both Dad's and Mom's bucket.  It was also a common sight to see little Tempi sound asleep in the field with each parent facing out from her patiently standing guard until she awoke.  Dad was her childhood playmate and they still have a special relationship.

Because of my life taking on a life of it's own, her training has been rather lax thus far.  She has now been ridden about 20-25 times.  She can walk and trot and has begun working on giving to the bit.  I'm hoping to be able to put some work into her indoors this winter so she'll be ready to go in the spring.

While she has a feisty personality on a social basis, in training she is all business and very cooperative.  Stay tuned for updates.
